FRENCH ONION SOUP

Ingredients to make French Onion Soup

  • 1 kg onion sliced
  • Salt to taste
  • 2TBSP BUTTER
  • 1tbsp Oil
  • 1 cup fresh white wine
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 1 litre vegetable stock
  • 1tbsp mixed herbs
  • 1 clove garlic
  • enough grated comte cheese for topping
  • 2 bread toast pieces
  • Chopped coriander for garnishing
  • 1teasp crushed blackpepper
  • Pinch of sugar

How to make French Onion Soup

  1. Heat up butter and oil in a heavy bottomed pan.
  2. Pour the sliced onion and cook well.
  3. Add sugar and salt.
  4. Now add crushed black pepper.Stir well.
  5. Pour the wine and cook well.
  6. Add flour and mix well.
  7. After caramelization pour vegetable stock.
  8. Add dried herbs.Cook for 15 mins.
  9. In a microwave proof soup bowl,take the soup.
  10. Now take 2 pieces bread and rub a garlic roughly on bread pieces.
  11. Put these two pieces on soup.Add grated cheese from top.
  12. Bake in preheated oven at 120 degree for 2 mins.
  13. Garnish with chopped coriander and serve hot.
My Tip:You can replace wine with 2tbsp apple cider vinegar.
